Can Belarusians get American visas in any country?
The US Embassy in Warsaw has informed ERB that Belarusians could apply for American visas in any other country alongside with citizens of other countries because the American Embassy stopped giving out visas in Minsk. However, the chance to get a visa there is much lower because it is rather difficult to prove your connection with your country of residence.
Belarusians citizens will be able to get a visa in the US Embassy in Kiev only if they manage to prove the fact of permanent residence in Ukraine. We have also been informed that you can go to Kiev and try explaining the problem to the officer there:
Embassy: “You can try explaining the problem to the officer, they take all decisions”.
If Belarusians are allowed to present documents needed for a visa in the American Embassy in Kiev, they will have to pay consular fees that will be 31 dollars more than in Minsk.
The US Embassy in Moscow has not received any information about giving out visas to Belarusian citizens yet and they are asking to phone back later.
Let us remind you that the US Department of State told ERB that suspension of visa services was a temporary measure and advised that we should keep visiting the web site of the American Embassy in Minsk to get more information about visas. However, there is no information of the kind but for an announcement about the suspension of visa services.
