European deputies: Attack against “Belsat” to influence EU-Belarus negotiations
Some EU deputies have commented on the detention of Ivan Shulha (a journalist), reports Radio “Liberty”. “The fate and even the life of this young man may depend on our position. His only guilt is his struggle for the freedom of speech in Belarus”, - is said in the letter sent to the European Commission by a European deputy Conrad Shimanski.
The head of the EP delegation on Belarusian affairs Jacek Protasewicz has noted that the things happening to “Belsat” will influence the negotiations between the European Union and Belarus. For example, they will influence the decision about the Belarusian delegation in “Euronest” – a joint representative office of the European parliament and members of the Eastern Partnership program.
