FEMEN strategist severely beaten in Kiev
Women's pressure group FEMEN says security services in Ukraine or in Belarus or in Russia are to blame for the violent attack.
Political scientist from the FEMEN movement Victor Svyatski was severely beaten on the evening of July 24. His face was bloody, he lost some teeth and he lost a lot of blood. He was taken to emergency hospital.
The organization stressed that Svyatski was attacked right before the visit of Russian Patriarch Kirill and Presidents Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Vladimir Putin to Kiev.
FEMEN suspects security services because nothing was stolen from Svyatski. The activists have also been threatened with violence in case they decide to hinder the mass celebration of the 1025th anniversary of the Christianization of Kievan Rus.
Strangers kept following them on July 24, leader of the movement Ganna Gutsol and activist Alexandra Shevchenko said.
