HC Dynamo Minsk head coach Gordie Dwyer told reporters Monday he is not going to step down from his post, reports the club's press office.
On 29 October Euroradio reported that the Minsk side was beaten by Amur Khabarovsk - an 11th back-to back defeat in the Continental Hockey League (KHL).
In his post-match comments, Dwyer said the squad was in need of new players. "If we want changes, we need to have new people in the team. We need competition and depth in this team," he stressed. Dwyer also added he was going to continue working with the current players but would look for ways to reinforce the squad.
Dwyer also stressed he was not going to resign. "It is not in my nature to quit. I remain positive and try to do everything to prepare the team in the best way possible," he said.
The Canadian manager put responsibility on the whole club. "I reckon everyone - players, coaches, management - should share responsibility. That's the reality. If the team is unable to win consistently, there are questions equally for everyone. We win and lose together," Dwyer stressed.
