Ice hockey: Vladimir Krikunov approved as Team Belarus coach
Russian coach Vladimir Krikunov once led Belarus to the famous victory over Sweden in the quarterfinals of the Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002.
In 2002, Belarus advanced to the semifinals for the first time in history.
Pressball reports that the contract will be signed at 10 a.m. on September 25 at the conference hall in the Football House in Minsk. The signing ceremony will be followed by a press conference of the new coach.
Vladimir Krikunov, 64, coached Team Belarus in 2001-2003. He worked with Kazakhstan and Neftekhimik teams in recent years.
