I.Lihovoi: Ukraine is ready to mediate between Belarus and USA

Ukraine is ready to take part in the regulation of diplomatic relations between Belarus and the USA, claimed the Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus Igor Lihovoi at a press conference in Minsk on March 21. The Ambassador stressed that Ukraine was worried about “the tension” between the countries that was caused by the sanctions imposed on the “Belnaftahim” concern by the US Ministry of Finance. At the same time he noted that the withdrawal of the ambassadors of both countries was “a sovereign right of the USA and Belarus to take decisions on the diplomatic level”.

I.Lihovoi noted that sanctions the USA had imposed on Belarus did not concern Ukraine.
