IMF expects slight economic growth in Belarus in 2010
Another mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday arrived in Minsk. It is scheduled to have consultations at the Cabinet of Ministers, the National Bank, the Ministry of Finances and the Ministry of Economy with the next several days. According to Natalia Koliadzina, the permanent representative of IMF in Belarus, the international financial experts will discuss the ways of overcoming the crisis together with the Belarusian authorities and independent economists.
IMF expects that at least a slight economi growth will begin in Belarus next year. In January 2009, Belarus received the first installment of $800 million and the second installment of $680 million out of IMF's $2 billion stand-by loan for Belarus. Before the end of the year, Belarus is expected to receive another $1 billion and $350 million.
