Mahileu Region democrats refuse to participate in “mini-congress”
Leaders of democratic forces of Mahileu Region have refused to participate in the regional “mini-congress of democratic forces”. A similar appeal has been signed by heads of regional affiliates of BNF and the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (Hramada) and the head of the regional steering committee responsible for creation of the Party of Freedom and Progress.
They explain their decision by the absence of a clear aim of the Congress of Democratic Forces and transparent and fair system of choosing delegates for the forum.
It is reported that the central commission accepted only 22 delegates from Mahileu Region out of the suggested 67. There will be no quorum without representatives of BNF, BSDP (H) and PFP steering committee and the congress will not take place.
