Maladzechna ‘miner’ stands trial
The 31-year-old man is on trial on charges of false bomb alerts and other crimes in Maladzechna.
The incident occurred in September. The infringer sent letters to Maladzechna schools and said that they had been mined. He demanded $10 thousand to avoid victims among children. All schoolchildren were evacuated, the buildings were checked by specialists but nothing suspicious was found.
The police detained the infringer later. He worked for a local construction company. He wanted to compromise his acquaintance out of revenge but failed. The man is facing up to 7 years of imprisonment.
The miner is standing trial in Maladzechna District Court. Witnesses are being interrogated today.
