Mentally-ill male suspect confesses to killing schoolgirl in Lahoysk district
The man held on suspicion of murdering 7-year-old Ira Kuzhelnaya in the Lahoyski district has confessed to killing the schoolgirl, Dzmitry Marmuzevich, the chief investigator at the Minsk Regional Prosecutor's Office told the Interfax news agency.
Marmuzevich also said that doctors confirmed the man was mentally sick.
The body of the killed girl was found on Thursday 7 km off the village of Belaruchy, Lahoyisk district. The police are cautious to suggest that they have possibly found Ira Kuzhelnaya who went missing in late November last year.
The girl could not be immediately identified, because the face was heavily damaged. The body was sent to Minsk for a forensic examination.
