Poland complicates visa policy for Belarusians
Polish consulates have decreased the number of visas given to Belarusians, Russians and Ukrainians since Poland joined the Schengen agreement. “Gazeta Wyborcza” notes that Polish consulates in Eastern Europe have given 66% fewer visas to Belarusians, 46% fewer – to Ukrainians and a third fewer visas to Russians over the period.
The limitation has influenced Belarusians most – our citizens got 208 thousand visas from January to August 2007 and only 70 thousands – over the same period in 2008.
