Prosecutor mulls rewards for corruption tips
The Prosecutor General’s Office considers offering
rewards to people for valuable tips about corruption offenses.
A representative of the Office told BelaPAN that rewards for such information may be offered under a directive issued by the Council of Ministers in December 1998. The size of rewards may reach ($1,400) at present but may be twice as much “on extraordinary occasions.”
Earlier this week the Prosecutor General’s Office invited people to send information about corruption crimes to its website.
Website visitors are urged to report facts of bribery and other corruption offenses committed by government officials, law enforcers, judges and business executives.
