Belarus denies accreditation to Belsat TV
Belarusian MFA says local journalists violated media laws on numerous occasions when cooperating with TV channel without accreditation
"This decision of Belarusian MFA was expected by Belsat, because our journalists are very well aware of what country they work in. We should expect no liberalization from the Belarusian leadership," Belsat's official representative in Belarus Mikhas Yanchuk told press service of Belarusian Association of Journalists.
Belsat TV is the first independent Belarusian TV channel in operation since December 2007. Belsat journalists were numerously warned by Belarus authorities and sometimes sentenced to administrative arrests.
