Belarus recommends EU not to meddle into other countries political struggle
Mikhail Khvastou, representative of Belarus in the UN department in Geneva, stated this on September 22.
This was stated at the debates in the framework of the 18th session of the UNO Human Rights Council, which is taking place on September 12-30.
Khvastou thanked the contries which supported Belarus at these debates - North Korea and Syria. He also underlined that the Belarusian authorities would do their best to withdraw the issue of the situation in the country from the agenda of the UNO Human Rights Council, reports BelaPAN. According to him, dissatisfaction with the results of the presidential election in Belarus means interference into the country's internal affairs, and discussion of the Belarusian issue revealed "all the shortcomings" of the UNO Human Rights Council.
Representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Kyung-wha Kang, in her turn, stated during the debates that Belarus should demonstrate real steps on reconsideration of the legislation in order to bring it to correspondence with the international standards.
