Byahun: I don't know why opposition members are not allowed to go abroad
Head of the department on citizenship and migration Alyaksei Byahun commented on the situation with the "black list" to Euroradio.
Let us remind you, opposition members Anatol Lyabedzka, Syarhei Kalyakin, Victar Karnyayenka and human rights defender Valyantsin Stefanovich were prohibited to cross the Belarusian-Lithuanian border without any explanations recently. Previously, there was a non-official information that the opposition members who urged the West to implement sanctions on Belarus, got into the special "black list".
Alyaksei Byahun: "I don't know who stamped their passports and who prohibited them to go. We have no information on this issue, in particular, we have no information relevant to these cases".
According to Byahun, it is necessary to address to the officials who took the decision to limit these people's right for going abroad. It is no point to ask the Department on this. However, Alyaksei Byahun failed to explain whom exactly we should write to. He also confessed that he heard about the list of the opposition members who are prohibited to go abroad for the first time ever, from Euroradio.
