KGB gains more rights to expand travel ban list
Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed decree #295 "On simplification of the terms of exit from the Republic of Belarus" on July 4.
According to the decree, a person can be added on the list of travel banned by the State Security Committee is he is she is "registered in data bases of the state security organs". KGB used to be able to add Belarusians on the list only if they had access to state secrets. The others could be added by the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Justice.
KGB will comment on it on its website soon.
