Lukashenka: Take my money if you find it
Belarus president refutes allegations about his offshore accounts in Cyprus
Visiting the state-owned apparel factory Skuno in Minsk on Friday, Belarus president Alexander Lukashenka offered those who could find his money to take it.
"As for Lukashenka's billions, I can only
say once again: take them. Cyprus took 60%, as for the rest - take it if you
find it. There is an opportunity... Take it not only from Lukashenka but also from his
family and close relatives," interfax.by
quotes the Belarus president as saying.
Lukashenka is convinced that the financial crisis in
Cyprus will not affect the Belarusian economy. There is no
Belarusian money in Cyprus, while Belarusian banks have virtually no connections
with that country.
