Ministry of Finance: IMF's support may be needed only in 2013
Deputy Minister of Finance Maksim Yermalovich has said this.
According to him, the Belarusian Ministry
of Finance sees no need in extra financial support from the International
Monetary Fund, as well as in start of the Fund's new program in 2012.
However, according
to the information provided by BELTA, the Ministry of Finance hopes to get help from
the IMF in 2013, in addition to the program with the EurAsEs anti-crisis
foundation. This issue may be raised during the next IMF's mission in
Autumn-2012, says Maksim
Yermalovich.
Let us remind you,
head of the National Bank Nadzeya Yermakova has said today that Belarus can do
without the IMF's credit. Having commented on the results of the recent visit
to Belarus of the International Monetary Fund, Yermakova reminded that our
country wanted to get 3,5 billion USD from the IMF. However, the mission
demanded the "road map" of the economic reforms, and was dissatisfied
with the Belarusian plan.
According to the
National Bank's head, Belarus hopes to find the necessary credits in the World
Bank or in the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development.
