Poles restore a fragment of Belarusian Katyn list
There are 98 names in it.
The center of the
Russian-Polish dialogue and understanding published part of the surnames from
the so-called Belarusian Katyn list - the list of Polish citizens, killed at
the territory of Belarus.
The fragment contains 98 surnames of Polish citizens, executed by the Soviet
authorities in the Belarusian prisons in 1940.
According to Radio Liberty,
the list appeared after comparison of the lists of Polish citizens who died at
the territory of the former North-East provinces of Poland, with the lists of
the people who were transported to Minsk prison by the NKVD military escort.
The center of the Russian-Polish dialogue underlines that the absence of further information about these people confirms that they were killed. The list may grow bigger in the process of further investigation.
The list is available here.
