Political prisoner Syarhei Kavalenka's wife detained in Vitsebsk
It happened at 5.40 a.m. near Vitsebsk regional court.
Alena Kavalenka together with "European Belarus' activist Alena Semenchukova and Syarhei's cousin were drawing a sign "Freedom to Syarhei Kavalenka!" on the asphalt. Radio Liberty notes that this is the way the detainees wanted to show their solidarity with the prisoner, who started a hunger strike of protest for the second time.
Let us remind you, today Vitsebsk regional court will consider the appeal against the decision of the Pershamayski district court of Vitsebsk, which sentenced the activist to two years of imprisonment.
