UCP to remind Attorney General about missing politicians
The investigation may be stopped due to the case limitation period.
Leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka told Euroradio:
"The situation is alarming. There has been no progress in the case of missing politicians for several years. The limitation period will be over next year and the investigation will be stopped. It will be a decisive year. We will try to get clear answers to the questions asked in 2000."
The appeal twill be sent to the Attorney General by the end of January, Lyabedzka says.
Ex-Minister of Internal Affairs Yury Zaharanka, opposition politician Victar Hanchar and entrepreneur Anatol Krasouski disappeared in 1999. Journalist Dzmitry Zavadski went missing in 2000. No official information about their fate has been provided so far. They became victims of "the death squadron", unofficial sources report.
