Russian bikers and diplomats get stopped at German highway
They were thought to be ‘a terrorist threat’.
The Russian bikers Night Wolves and some of their adherents’ were detained by the German police near Munich, Ukrainian Pravda refers to the bikers club website.
The Night Wolves were surrounded by 20 policemen with dogs and inspected on suspicion of ‘a terrorist threat’.
The column was followed by a car with two minors and three adults. There was also an Austrian biker in the column. Two Russian diplomatic cars were at the end of the column. The police took away everyone’s documents and checked them. The bikers continued their trip across Germany afterwards, ntv.ru reports.
The Russian Night Wolves openly support Vladimir Putin’s policy. They wanted to organize a motor race across Europe to mark the 70th anniversary of the Victory. Poles protested against it. The Wolves did not manage to cross the Polish border in Belarus.
The Czech authorities are also indignant at the Russian bikers’ plans and are looking for a way to prevent them from crossing the Czech Republic.
The German government has forbidden the bikers to enter the country. Lithuanian frontier guards have not allowed four bikers (Russian and Belarusian citizens) to enter the EU either. However, it is not clear whether his incident is connected with the scandalous motor race Moscow-Berlin.
