Soviet war memorial to be relocated in Ukraine's Lvov

The members of the city council in the western Ukrainian city of Lvov voted in favor of relocating the Soviet war memorials from the city center. A temporary commission comprising the local deputies has beeе set up to list the monuments and memorial signs that are to be dismantled by the local authorities. The action is spearheaded by the right-wing Ukrainian organization "Freedom". The first monument to be removed is the one at the centra park, where veterans always gather for Victory Day celebrations.
