V.Sіuchyk: While there is at least one Belarusian still coming to Kurapaty, there is a future
A mournful action dedicated to victims of Stalin’s repressions will take place in the Kurapaty tract near Minsk today. It is organized by the memorial section of the Belarusian voluntary association for protection of monuments.
The action is dated for the 20th anniversary of the day when Zyanon Paznyak and Yauhen Shmyhalyou’s article “Kurapaty – the road of death” was published. An activist of the association Vyachaslau Siuchyk says that today’s action will be organized in the usual way.
V.Sіuchyk: It is a traditional action: candles are lit and flowers are laid in memory of the people Belarus lost in that frightful time… While there is a least one Belarusian still coming to Kurapaty, Belarus will have a chance for a normal future.
The action in Kurapaty will start at 7 p.m.
