Women live 12 years longer than men in Belarus
There is a significant difference between the lifespan of men and women in Belarus. It was 12 years in 2008, notes Belapan. Men live an average of 64.7 years, while women 76.5. At the same time, 5 year difference is considered natural, according to the estimates of UNDP.
As of January 1, 2010, there were 5063000 women or 53.4 percent of the total population. 74,7 percent of women lived in cities or towns against 25.3 percent in villages. There are 1146 women per 1000 men in this country.
