15-year-old Vadzim Daniliuk drew 41 buildings all over
A criminal case against a teenager who drew 41 buildings in the centre of the city all over was started by the police of Brest. The head inspector of the regional department of the interior Syarhey Haurusik informed ERB that the “painter” was accidentally detained on the evening of April 21. He called himself “bambera 2SN”.
Syarhey Haurusik: “He painted the building in Savetskiya Pahranichniki Street. A bit later it tuned out that the teenager had drawn about 40 buildings all over”.
15-year-old Vadzіm Danіlyuk is accused according to the article “Damaging property and buildings”. The new Code came into power on March 1. This infringement used to be considered to be violation of the Administrative Code before the change. The police want to make this case demonstrative.
Syarhey Haurusik: “It’s the first time a criminal case according to art. 341 “Damaging property and buildings” has been started. The fine may be from 30 to 50 base amounts. Teenagers used to be punished for “misdemeanor” in similar cases. We want to show teenagers that criminal cases may be started from now on”.
A repairman from the housing and communal services department of Brest Syarhey Haladzuik complained that graffiti was becoming a real curse.
Syarhey Haladzuik: “We are painting fronts and getting ready for May 9. We will get up at 7 a.m. tomorrow to see that everything is drawn all over again”.
The repairman says it is senseless to make special places for graffiti because teenagers feel excitement only when they leave their logos in places where it is forbidden to do it. You can guess the number of such teenagers by their logos”.
Syarhey Haladzuik: “It depends on vacations and the number of teenagers remaining in town. As far as we know there are about 20 or 25 such “painters” in our city”.
About 36 teenagers have been detained and fined for graffiti in Brest last year. Vadzim’s parents have agreed to pay the expenses for buildings’ repairs. The sum to be paid is about 907 thousand 560 BRB. The parents have already started paying.
