17:37 Water supply cut off in Salihorsk

Water supply was again cut off in the town of Salihorsk in Minsk region. The town is still eliminating the affects of a serious accident, which switched off the running water throughout the town on March 31.  The residents still have to line up to get water from mobile water tanks. A woman called the European Radio for Belarus from Salihorsk ans said water was running for about half an hour before it was cut off again.

The twon authorities are using the television and radio to calm down the residents. They promise the water supply "is just about to be resumed".

But, according to unofficial reports, the accident affects have not yet been eliminated. The emergency agency needs 2-3 days to rectify the accident.
