40 signatures collected for Independence Declaration in a month
The head of the UCP Anatol Lyabedzka has informed ERB about it today. As ERB reported, the collection of signatures of deputies of the 12th convocation began at the end of July. Alyaksandr Lukashenka is listed as a potential signee. The UCP leader is planning to address the Belarusian leader by post when more than a hundred signatures will have been collected.
Lyabedzka: "About 30 or 40 people have already signed the Declaration. Shushkevich, Holubeu and Sadouski are among them. We will collect a hundred signatures and ask a deputy of the 12th convocation Alyaksandr Lukashenka for his one. We are unlikely to do it directly so we will have to send our request to his residence by post. It is up to him to join or not”.
Mr. Lyabedzka noted that nobody has refused to sign the Declaration so far. The document with autographs of “the fathers of independence” will be handed down to the next generations as a legacy.
