Activists urging to boycott election detained in Vitsebsk (photo)
A member of the CCP BPF Yan Dzyarzhautsau and a non-party activist Barys Hamaida have been detained in the center of Vitsebsk today. They went outside with posters urging citizens to boycott the election.
Dzyarzhautsau and Hamaida think that “the election will be rigged” in any case. Furthermore, the activists think that none of the candidates has the necessary authority with people to become Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s real rival.
Policemen approached Dzyarzhautsau and Hamaida about two hours later and delivered them to the police office. The activists are in Railway District Department of the Interior at the moment. They have been accused of an unauthorized picket.
