Anatol Lyabedzka: "It is not clear whether they will let us off”
The leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka is still in Minsk Soviet District Department of the Interior. Policemen are counting UDF’s information leaflets and issues of the newspaper “Breath of Wind” the activists distributed in the centre of Minsk today. That’s what Anatol Lyabedzka told ERB on the phone:
"We are in Minsk Soviet District Court now. We were detained while giving out leaflets and newspapers. Policemen are counting the leaflets and newspapers”.
Meanwhile, opposition members were not ready to answer whether they would be released after the print run was counted.
Let us remind you that leaflets and newspapers were given out on the Republican Information Day organized by the UDF. Only two out of 450 appeals for pickets have been satisfied – in Mahileu and in Polatsk. In this situation opposition members decided to conduct short pickets and give out information materials.
