Babruisk plant workers complain to Lukashenka about management

The idea to write to the head of state came to the members of the Free Trade Union of Belarus. The appeal was signed by union members dismissed in the past two years and those workers who are going to be fired this year on 30 October.

In their address, the workers describe the state of the union and talk about the economic condition of the plant. They noted that at the moment "there are at the plant more than 700 of unsold tractors that are literally rotting because of their poor quality, and some of their parts are already missing." Among other examples of negligent management are the cases of "low-quality tractor complexes that were sold in Serbia. There were then sent a group of factory workers to fix the defects. It took more than a few thousands of dollars."

"Alyaksandr Rygoravich! We appeal to you as the guarantor of the Constitution, help us restore our right to work, which you used to say was a fundamental right of Belarusians," Belsat quoted letter to Lukashenka

The plant's management explains the dismissals by the necessity to "optimize work places".
