Barshcheuski, Paznyak meet in Warsaw
Zyanon Pazyak, the exiled leader of the Christian Conservative Party of the Belarusian Popular Front, and Lyavon Barshcheuski, the chairman of the Party of the Belarusian Popular Front, met in Warsaw during the launch of two anthologies of the Belarusian poetry. The politicians, who had worked together before the Belarusian Popular Front split into two wings, discussed the situation in Belarus ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections. They also agreed to meet again in early July, reports the press office of the Party of the Belarusian Popular Front.
The European Radio for Belarus asked Lyavon Barshcheuski to share his impressions of the meet.
"Mr Paznyak's long stay abroad produced a positive influence on him. Naturally, he lacks sometimes the actual information. But he talks in a rational and meaningful way. Generally, I am always pleased talking to him", Barshcheuski said.
When asked to comment on the rumors about a possible merge between the two parties, Barshcheuski said there were a lot of possibilites for common actions. However, the only problem is that the leaders of the Christian Conservative Party of the Belarusian Popular Front in Minsk have "certain personal complexes" and do not wish to cooperate with the Party of the Belarusian Popular Front.
