Belarus bans pork imports from Ukraine's Kyiv region
Restrictions on pork imports from Kyiv region will take effect on 12 May allegedly on African swine flu fears.
Belarus has banned the import of pork from the Kyiv region of Ukraine due to the case of African swine fever. Restrictions cover live pigs, pork (including wild boar meat) and processed products, as well as intestinal and other raw materials, bristle, hunting trophies derived from animals of susceptible species. Banned were also the import of feed and feed additives for animals of vegetable and animal origin, including fish and poultry feed additives for cats and dogs, as well as ready-made food for them that has not undergone heat treatment.
The Department of Veterinary and Food Control of the Ministry of Agriculture also ordered to take additional measures to control the biological protection of large pig farms of all forms of ownership.
Restrictions on Ukrainian pork will take effect on 12 May, BelaPAN reports.
