Belarus marks Radunica
It is a public holiday in Belarus to commemorate the departed on the 9th day after Easter - a pagan tradition tied to the Russian Orthodox calendar.
Radunica represents a combination of Christian and pagan traditions. The departied relatives are first commemodated during a memorial service in the church. It is then followed by a visit to the cemetry where Easter eggs are left behind at the graves of the departed.
