Belarus to penalize for Nazi symbols

The Belarusian government has welcomed a proposal from the Justice Ministry to introduce administrative responsibility for the dissemination of the Nazi symbols.
Under the proposal, the demonstration in public, production and dissemination of Nazi symbols should be treated as an administrative offence.

Those responsible can be either fined or arrested. The Nazi symbols include flags, signs, badges, uniform, greetings and the anthems that were used by the National Socialist Party of Germany and Italy's fascist party.

The draft legislation also envisages that no administrative penalties will be used when Nazi symbols are displayed in public during expositions. The draft has been tabled with the House of Representatives.
