Belarus to reveal location for nuclear station in spring 2008

Belarus will decide where to build the first nuclear power plant by spring 2008, said Uladzimir Syamashka, Vice Prime Minister during the cabinet meeting on the nuclear energy issues, reports Belapan. The planned site will initially be located on the area of around 100 square kilometers. The next step will be to identify an area of 10-12 square kilometers where the station builgings will be located.  However, the exact location will be known not earlier than late 2008.

Several international companies, including the ones from the United States and Japan, France and Germany and Russia are expected to bid for the contract.
