Belarusians planning to work for LPR vanish?
SBU said they had been deported to Belarus, Foreign Ministry knows nothing about it.
The first person to provide information about detention of two Belarusians who were on their way to separatists in Donbass, but were detained by police officers at the checkpoint near Lisichansk, was the head of the Luhansk military-civilian administration Gennady Moskal.
"They wanted to join one of the leaders of bandits called Mozgovoi, who was shot yesterday near Alchevsk. They had military cards on them, which were found during the search. They expected to earn several thousand dollars a month, although that kind of money is not paid here. The fact that they would have to shoot Ukrainians apparently did not bother them. Our secret services are now working with the detainees. In the near future they are likely to be sent home, let the Belarusian law enforcement deal with them," Gennady Moskal wrote on his official website on May 24.
As was previously reported, the detainees are two men of 34 and 37. They came to Ukraine from the Brest region. One is a former paratrooper, the other did not serve, but was registered for military service. We decided to find out further fate of the "militants."
On the morning of May 26, press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Lugansk Region, Tatiana Pogukai, told Euroradio that Belarusians were taken to the Security Services of Ukraine and, most likely, will be tried.
Tatiana Pogukai: "If they are found guilty for their actions according to the Ukrainian criminal law, they will bear responsibility. If not, they will be deported to the territory of Belarus."
However, Tatiana knows no details of the investigation - Belarusians were passed to the SBU, and their fate depends entirely on the intelligence services.
But the SBU told us that the Belarusians ... were deported to their homeland almost immediately after the arrest!
Press service of the SBU: "They were deported immediately. There was no investigation, nothing."
The fact that our fellow citizens have allegedly been deported to Belarus became a surprise for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
"At the moment, we have no official statement, our embassy is open as usual," answered the question about the fate of the detainees under the Lisichansk Belarusians spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maryia Vanshyna. But I pass her the information received from the Security Service of Ukraine about the deportation, and Ms Vanshyna called the consular department again - still no information.
There is no information about this case in the Brest regional administration of the Interior Ministry, the Interior Ministry or the KGB Office of the Brest region.
