BelTA employees’ Internet access limited because of porn?
BelTA reports that the access to some website has been restricted. According to resurs.by, the agency employees are unable to access public mail services like gmail.com, mail.ru, rambler.ru alongside with Youtube and film servers.
The ban was imposed when the agency received a huge bill for downloaded video files - 2 million rubles. As a result of an internal investigation, the staff concluded that someone had downloaded a lot of porn.
The connection and automatic systems centre of BelTA has informed ERB that the mail system was functioning and added that restricted access to some websites during the workday was a good idea.
BelTA employee: Do you think it is wrong to forbid people to use the Internet for their personal purposes? I know that many enterprises do not allow using the Internet at work. It can be done only after work. People should work during their workday. All websites are functioning here. The fact that pornographic websites cannot be accessed is good.
