Br19.5 billion allocated for local elections from budget
Br19.5 billion has been allocated from the budget for the election campaign of deputies of local councils in Belarus. The head of the Central Election and Republican Referendum Commission Lidziya Yarmoshyna has informed about it.
According to her, the campaign for the election of deputies of local councils traditionally receives the least money and is minimally financed.
"Br19.5 billion is very little taking into account that you need Br 10 billion just to pay the people working in local election commissions on the election day, to provide for early elections and check lists of electors”, - informs BelTA referring to the head of the CEC.
Part of budget money will be used to finance the pre-election agitation of candidates. Every candidate will receive a certain sum of money to print leaflets and posters in Minsk. Every district candidate will also receive free on-air time on the radio.
