Confirmed opposition members not included in election commissions in Hrodna Province
An unexampled incident in the history of elections has been registered in a district centre Svislach in Hrodna Province. The BSDH has proposed four people to election commissions – Mikalai Luksha, Mihail Kazak, Alyaksandr Palubinski and Dzmitry Buzuk. Three more local activists have been selected with the help of signature collection. Hrodna Province affiliate of the party sent its representative Victar Dzesyatsik to a meeting of the administration of Svislach District Executive Committee. It was officially claimed that all the people had been included in the commission expect for two people who had previous convictions. The selected party activists and party members received phone calls from the executive committee and were informed that they had been included in district election commissions, notes the website of the human rights centre “Vyasna”.
Lists of members of election commissions were officially published in the local district newspaper “Svislach Newspaper” only on March 13. However, none of the 7 representatives of the BCDP and civil activists were included in them.
