Conscription office: Pronski is drafted, because his deferral has expired
Aleh Pronski, an activist with the Movement for Freedpm from Masty, Hrodna region, who was nominated to the regional electoral commission and who was going to take part in the upcoming local elections, links his urgent conscription with the hand of KGB. But, local military conscription commissioner refers to the law. Talking to the European Radio for Belarus, the 22-year-old activist said that he was taken from his office to the conscription office in the morning hours today.
Aleh Pronski: “There is a certain KGB agent who is monitoring me. Apparently, he got the news and simply put pressure on the conscription office. I realized that today during a conversation at the conscription office”.
Military commissioner Aleh Shenderovich disagrees with the new recruit. Aleh Pronski's deferral expired on January 1, 2010, while medical check-ups confirmed he was fit for military service.
The draftee said he will serve at a communications unit in Hrodna.
