Criminal case started against Homel inhabitant for demand of alternative service
The coordinator of creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party Yauhen Yakavenka is accused of draft evasion. He was summoned to Homel Central District police office on March 19. He was informed that a criminal case had been started against him, reports radio “Liberty”.
The court has already fined Yakavenka for 5 base amounts for not visiting the military registration and enlistment office earlier. However, Homel Region Court cancelled the district court’s decision on March 13.
Yauhen Yakavenkа demands call-up papers in Belarusian. He also demands an opportunity of alternative service.
