EU alarmed by new import regulation in Belarus
Representatives of the European Commission have expressed alarm over the negative consequences of the new import regime that came into force on January 1, 2010. They called on Belarus as a member nation of the Customs Union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan, to abolish unfavorable measures that were introduced by the Customs Union and led to increased tariffs for several important commodities from the European Union, the office of the European Commission in Minsk told Interfax news agency.
