Ex-rector of Institute of Culture: I don't quit due to staff cuts
The Ministry of Culture has refused to renew a contract for former Institute of Culture rector Ivan Kruk.
The ethnographer told Euroradio:
“My contract expired on August 28 and the Minister of Culture did not prolong it. That is why I went to work as a professor in the Department of Culturology in another institute. This is my last day at work; I will start looking for a new job tomorrow.”
His dismissal is not connected with the recent decision to reduce the staff of the Institute of Culture by 30%, Ivan Kruk stressed. The rector quit the job in protest against the staff reduction, media reports suggested earlier.
