Four lawyers who defended Square participants deprived from licences

The lawyers of Minsk city collegium of lawyers Aleh Aheeu, Tatsiana Aheeva, Uladzimir Toustsik  and Tamara Haraeva, who defended participants of the December 19 action, have been deprived from licences. This information has been published at the web-site of the Ministry of Justice, BelaPAN reports.

The decision has been taken upon the results of the checking of the lawyers' activity, conducted by the Ministry of Justice, during which  "severe violations of legislation, which are not compatible with the position of a lawyer, have been revealed".

The licences granted to Aleh Aheeu (the lawyer of the ex-presidential candidate Ales Mikhalevich) and Tatsiana Aheeva have been terminated for "severe violations of the order of making agreements for rendering legal assistance, creating obstacles in the form of false evidence to the licencing bodies in conducting measures of control over following the legislation".

Uladzimir Toustsik and Tamara Haraeva have been deprived from licences for "severe violations of the licencing legislation in the form of refusal to render legal assistance to Iryna Khalip".
