Interior ministry promises to reduce number of travel-banned Belarusians
This will be possible thanks to a new law that regulates the exit and entrance of Belarus citizens to become effective on March 30, Dzmitry Leuchanka, the head of Interior Ministry's immigration department told reporters on March 18.
So far, there are nearly 125,000 Belarusians that are not allowed to leave Belarus. This list includes mostly those who were convicted or treated as suspects, according to Leuchanka.
When asked what criteria could be used to define if a person can travel or not under the new regulation, Dzmitry Leuchanka failed to comment.
