Iryna Khalip receives "Golden Feather of Russia" award
Iryna Khalip has received the award "Golden feather of Russia". The award is given annually by Russian Journalists' Union and editors of big Russian newspapers.
The journalist's mother Luciana Belzatskaya has informed to Radio Liberty that they got a phone call from Moscow on February 11, and thus found out about the award:
“The deputy editor-in-chief of "Novaya Gazeta" called us and informed that he had just received the "Golden feather of Russia" award for Iryna from Iryna Piatrouskaya's hands. I told her about it, she was very pleased. She found herself in a very honourable company with Dzmitry Bykau and other famous Russian journalists”.
