Justice ministry denies registration to Christian Democracy
The Justice Ministry of Belarus has again rejected a registration application from the Belarusian Christian Democracy public association. Officials mainatin they do not understand "the goals, the subject and the methods of the organization's operation".
The Belarusian Christian Democracy saw their first attempt to register denied in December 2007. Back then, the Ministry of Justice claimed that the applicants failed to explain the essence of Christian values in their statute.
The organizers of the Belarusian Christian Democracy are set to appeal this decision of the Ministry of Justice in the Supreme Court, reports Nasha Niva.
The European Radio for Belarus reminds that the For Freedom human rights moevement was yesterday denied registration as well on the grounds that "real actions of the organization do not match the declared goals".
