Latvian PM retires after Maxima supermarket tragedy
Valdis Dombrovskis took this decision on Wednesday after the conversation with President Andris Bērziņš.
According to the politician, rus.delfi.lvwrites, his decision is connected with the roof collapse in the maxima supermarket and the fact that "the country needs a government capable of solving the current situation".
The Prime Minister thanked the Latvians for the support and apologized that he didn't make it.
Dombrovskis was the only PM in Latvia who headed three governments in a row. He also headed the Cabinet of Ministers for a record term, since march 12, 2009. The current government in the 17th in the contemporary history of Latvia.
