Belarus should yield in gas dispute - expert
The gas conflict between Minsk and Moscow will most likely end with Belarus’ victory, well-known Belarusian economist Leanid Zaika told Euroradio reporter Zmitser Lukashuk.
The price for Russian gas is too high, the expert noted. For instance, 1000 cubic metres of Algerian gas supplied to Europe costs 15 dollars at the extraction site. The transportation is also cheap. Thus, Russian gas cannot cost much more, Zaika reckons.
Russian gas should cost 50 dollars for 1000 cubic meters, the economic said.
